WRC Adds Zachary Kiesch To Reporting Ranks

NBC-owned WRC Washington (DMA 8) has promoted Zachary Kiesch to a full-time reporter.  Kiesch will be assigned to the station’s Prince George’s County Bureau.

Kiesch joined WRC three years ago in an off-air role, shooting and writing feature stories for the sports department as well as the evening newscasts. He also produced periodic episodes of District Matters, a 30-minute community affairs.

“For the last three years, Zachary has been working hard to learn all he could to fulfill his dream of reporting,” said Mike Goldrick, WRC VP of news. “I think we can all say that it’s paid off. His style, his eagerness and his commitment are impressive and will serve him well as he joins our Prince George’s County Bureau.

Kiesch’s journalism career began while he was studying at Ohio University, where he was a backpack journalist for the on-campus PBS station. He attended college on a football scholarship, and his interest in sports led him to the sports desk at WMNS in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He worked there for two years as both a sports and news reporter.
