WSAZ Debuts New Anchor Teams On Sept. 14

Three of Gray Television’s Charleston-Huntington, W.Va. (DMA 66) NBC affiliate WSAZ’s evening newscasts will feature slightly different anchor teams beginning Monday, Sept. 14.  All familiar faces, some in different places.

Brittany Hoke, Hattie Cheek and Kelly Ann Cicalese will anchor First Look at 4:00. Now celebrating one year on the air, this newscast is No 1 in its time slot, according to WSAZ.

On First at 5:00, Bill Murray gets to go home, in a sense. He has been a longtime anchor of the newscast, and will once again co-anchor the show, this time with Amanda Barren. This will also allow Murray to focus more on his storytelling, with daily human interest stories from throughout the region.

Tim Irr will join Brittany Hoke to anchor WSAZ 10 O’Clock News on co-owned WQCW. Irr and Barren will continue to co-anchor NewsChannel 3 Six O’clock and NewsChannel 3 Tonight at 11 p.m.

In other news-related moves, Taylor Eaton becomes morning reporter for all WSAZ’s early weekday newscasts.
