WSCV Expands News Alliance With Radio Stations

The news and information alliance that began in January between NBC’s Telemundo affiliate WSCV Miami (DMA 16) and Actualidad Radio’s WURN-AM/WLVJ-AM will be expanded as of June 4 to include WSCV’s 6 and 11 p.m. weekday newscasts.

“The decision to begin simulcasting these additional newscasts on Actualidad 1020AM and 1040AM is the result of the successful collaboration we have had with our colleagues at Actualidad, and also due to the many positive comments we have received from viewers who are grateful to have the ability to listen to our morning newscasts on Actualidad since January,” said Jorge Carballo, WSCV president-GM.

WSCV will continue to simulcast the 5 a.m. newscast Noticiero 51 Primera Edición on Actualidad, with news anchor Carinés Moncada and meteorologist Denise Isaac. The 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts are anchored by Ambrosio Hernández and María Montoya, who are joined by chief meteorologist Luis Carrera and sports anchor Carlos Maxwell.

Adib Eden, president of Actualidad Radio said: “All of us at Actualidad Radio are thrilled with the growing alliance with Telemundo 51. Actualidad Radio is committed to our Hispanic audience from Palm Beach to the Florida Keys in giving them relevant news and information fro their daily lifestyle. With our combined efforts we are accomplishing our mission to service the needs of Hispanics in the region.”
