WSCV Names Fausto Malave Evening News Anchor

Telemundo’s WSCV Miami (DMA 16) has named Fausto Malavé co-anchor of its 5:30, 6 and 11 p.m. weekday newscasts effective immediately.

“Fausto is a very experienced journalist who every day demonstrates his commitment to the station, to the news team and to the audience,” said Jorge Carballo, WSCV president-GM. “Fausto has been co-anchoring our weekday newscasts with Daisy Ballmajó since March of this year, along with sports anchor Carlos Maxwell and chief meteorologist Luis Carrera, and we are very pleased that as of today he will continue to do so on a permanent basis.”

Malavé joined WSCV as a reporter in 2006 and became co-anchor of the station’s weekend newscasts three years ago. Before joining the station, Malavé worked in Venezuela as anchor of Noticiero Estelar and as host of the political opinion show Sin Reservas on the Venevisión Network. He also worked as host and producer of the political program ¿Quién Tiene la Razón? on Venezuela’s Televen channel. Upon arriving in Miami he hosted Galavisión’s show El Rastro del Crimen and also reported for Univision’s WLTV.

While holding his positions as weekend and weekday news anchor at WSCV, Malavé has continued to report from the field about local, national and international stories.

Malavé graduated from the Universidad Central in Venezuela with a journalism degree.
