WSFX Wilmington Adds 7 P.M. News

Raycom Media’s Fox affiliate WSFX Wilmington, N.C. (DMA 130), said today it is adding a new local newscast beginning Sept. 6.

Fox Wilmington News at Seven will be a 30-minute weekday newscast at 7 p.m. Branded as “Local News, Better Time,” the broadcast, WSFX says, “is designed for viewers who want their local television news and weather, but do not get home in time for newscasts traditionally offered at 5 or 6 p.m.”

The newscast is also streamed live at foxwilmington.com.

Fox Wilmington News at Seven will be anchored by Marissa Hundley who joined the station in January of this year as a reporter. She joined the station from Norfolk, Va., where she worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor for the WTKR.

“Our news team works around the clock to keep you updated on all of our products,” said Scott Saxton, WSFX news director. “This latest project will give you a chance to get updated on news during a time in which no other local news is available on television.”
