WSMV’s Lisa Spencer Receives National Honor

Lisa Spencer, chief meteorologist at Meredith-owned NBC affiliate WSMV Nashville (DMA 29), received the National Weather Association’s 2015 NWA Broadcaster of the Year Award at the NWA’s annual luncheon in Oklahoma City, on Wednesday.

The award recognizes broadcasters who deliver critical weather forecasts and warnings and contribute significantly to the presentation of weather information to the public.

“We are very proud of the work Lisa is doing,” said Doreen Wade, WSMV VP-GM.  “To receive such a high honor from her peers shows the respect Lisa has earned as a meteorologist and what a valuable asset she is to the people of Middle Tennessee.”

Lisa adds the 2015 NWA Broadcaster of the Year Award to a list of awards that also includes the national Broadcast Meteorology Award from the American Meteorology Association, and eight regional Emmy awards.
