WTEV-WAWS Names Bob Longo News Dir.
Bob Longo, veteran news director, is joining Cox Media Group’s Jacksonville, Fla. (DMA 48) duopoly of WTEV (CBS) and WAWS (Fox) News as news director.
Longo’s TV journalism career has included stints as news director in Orlando, Fla.; Pittsburgh; Buffalo, N.Y.; and Binghamton, N.Y.
He began his career as a radio reporter and eventually worked as a reporter and anchor in both radio and TV before turning to management.
He has won numerous awards including a Peabody for an 18-month investigation into state spending irregularities, while at WTAE Pittsburgh.
Longo graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University.
