WTTG Promotes Perkins, Martin To A.M. Anchors

 

Tony Perkins and Wisdom Martin have been named morning anchors at Fox O&O WTTG Washington (DMA 8). Perkins will co-anchor weekdays from 7 to 10 a.m. alongside Allison Seymour; Martin will co-anchor weekdays from 4:35 to 7 a.m. with Sarah Simmons.

Prior to this, Perkins was co-anchor of WTTG’s weekday 9 a.m. newscast with Allison Seymour, as well as contributing to the entire morning weekday newscast in various capacities. He returned to the station 5 in 2006, after serving as a weather forecaster and feature reporter for ABC’s Good Morning America.

Perkins first worked at WTTG as co-anchor of Fox Morning News from 1998 to 1999, conducting interviews, doing feature segments and reviewing movies. Before that, he was the show’s weather personality starting in 1993. He is a graduate of American University.

Previously, Martin was a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor for WTTG. Prior to that, he was a weekend anchor and reporter for four years at WKRN Nashville. He also held reporter positions with KSEE Fresno, Calif.; WRAL Raleigh, N.C.; and CNN Headline News in Atlanta.

Martin holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Jackson State University in broadcast journalism. He began his career in broadcasting as a TV news photographer at WAPT Jackson, Miss.
