WTVJ Miami News Adds Jawan Strader

NBC-owned WTVJ Miami (DMA 16) today named Jawan Strader weekend evening anchor and general assignment reporter, starting today. Strader joins the station from WFOR, the maket’s CBS affiliate, where for almost 10 years he has held anchor positions, most recently weekday mornings.

Prior to arriving in South Florida, Strader was anchor-reporter at WOIO and morning anchor and consumer reporter at WKYC, both in Cleveland. He began his journalism career as a photographer-reporter for the Southwest Michigan bureau of WSBT South Bend, Ind., and has held reporter-anchor positions at KJRH Tulsa, Okla., and KXAN Austin, Texas.

Strader is a graduate of Indiana University where he earned a degree in journalism and speech communication.
