WTVM GM Lee Brantley Sets Retirement Date

The head of Raycom’s ABC affil in Columbus, Ga., since 1995 is stepping down at the end of July.

Raycom Media today announced the retirement of Lee Brantley, the VP-GM of its ABC affiliate WTVM Columbus, Ga. (DMA 127).

“It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing the retirement of Lee Brantley,” says Brad Streit, Raycom Media Group VP of television.

“Lee has built a team on respect and candor — not to mention building WTVM as the market leader. We at Raycom are grateful to Lee for everything he has done to make WTVM a success. And I am also grateful that he has agreed to remain on duty until July 31 so that we can insure the best possible leadership transition.”

Brantley began his career at WCOV Montgomery, Ala., and worked for Auburn University, AFLAC Broadcast Group and Raycom Media. He has been general manager at WTVM since 1995. Brantley’s career spans nearly 44 years as a broadcaster.

Raycom said it has begin a search for Brantley’s replacement.
