WTXF Names Chris Murphy ‘Good Day’ Co-Anchor

Fox-owned WTXF Philadelphia (DMA 4) has named Chris Murphy co-anchor of the early edition of Good Day Philadelphia, which airs from 4:25 to 6 a.m.

Most recently, Murphy was weekend anchor and reporter for KGTV San Diego. Prior to that, he was a reporter for KNSD San Diego.

Murphy has held news anchor and reporter positions at various stations, including KGW and KPTV, both Portland, Ore.; KRON San Francisco; KTVN Reno, Nev.; and KIEM Eureka, Calif.

Earlier Murphy hosted Travel Gear on The Travel Channel. He began his career as a newsroom intern at KGET Bakersfield, Calif.

A graduate of the University of California-San Diego, Murphy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications.
