WVIT Adds Veteran Investigative Journalist

Len Besthoff will serve as chief investigative reporter for Hartford, Conn., NBC-owned stations’ Troubleshooters Unit.

NBC-owned WVIT Hartford, Conn. (DMA 30), announced today that veteran journalist Len Besthoff will join the station’s Troubleshooters Unit as chief investigative reporter in the next few weeks.

Besthoff comes to the station from WFSB Hartford where he reported for the past 11 years. His most recent assignments include investigative reporter and Hartford bureau chief covering the state’s capitol city region.

Besthoff, an active member of Investigative Reporters and Editors, graduated from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn., and has worked in various markets covering investigations, business news and general assignments at WRAL Raleigh, N.C., WDBJ Roanoke, Va., News 12 in Norwalk, Conn., and TV34 News on the New Jersey shore.

Besthoff has covered major stories such as 9/11 in New York City, the 2012 Superstorm Sandy destruction in the Northeast, and a sit-down interview with President George W. Bush.
