WWMT Launching Weekend Morning News
Sinclair-owned CBS affiliate WWMT Grand Rapids, Mich. (DMA 39), will launch weekend morning newscasts in West Michigan starting Jan. 19. The new early morning newscasts will air Saturdays at 6-8 a.m. and Sundays at 7-9.
The weekend morning newscasts will be anchored by veteran reporter Jessica Harthorn and Meteorologist Cyndi Kahlbaum.
“These weekend morning newscasts will deliver breaking news and severe weather coverage while also reflecting more of a ‘Face the Nation’ feel on the local level,” said Jim Lutton, WWMT VP-GM.
“We will incorporate major live interviews, debate the hot issues and report live on the scene of developing stories with a dedicated reporter. NewsChannel 3 will now have added 15 hours of local news each week over the past five years showing our dedication to being the news leader in West Michigan,” he added.
