WWSI Philadelphia Adds Two Reporters
Telemundo-owned WWSI Philadelphia (DMA 4) announced today that Alexandra Galarza will join the station as general assignment reporter and Brian Mendoza will become South Jersey reporter, effective Monday, May 15. Both will report for the station’s local newscast, Noticiero Telemundo62, that airs weekdays at 5, 5:30, 6 and 11 p.m.
Born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Galarza previously worked as a multimedia journalist and reporter at Spanish-language WUVP Philadelphia and WUVG Atlanta, Georgia. Galarza earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism with dual concentrations in telecommunications and Spanish from Georgia State University. She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) and resides in South Philadelphia.
Mendoza, who will be covering South Jersey news, comes to Telemundo62 from Spanish-language WUNI Boston, where he served as a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor. Prior to this, Mendoza worked as an anchor and producer at the Abilene, Texas, Telemundo affiliate. Also hailing from Ecuador, Mendoza earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Houston.
