WXIX Teams With Cincinnati Reds For Weather
WXIX Is Official Weather Provider For Cincinnati Reds
The Cincinnati Reds have Fox affiliate WXIX’s chief meteorologist Steve Horstmeyer keeping a close eye on the weather for the season.
WXIX is the official weather provider for the Reds, and team officials will have a direct line to the station’s meteorologists allowing them to get up-to-the-minute weather conditions and forecasts.
“Having a local weather provider who is experienced in the nuances of weather patterns around the Cincinnati region is a great resource for our club,” said Tim O’Connell, Reds VP of ballpark operations.
“Reds baseball is synonymous with Cincinnati, and we are thrilled to be a part of it,” said WXIX GM Bill Lanesey.
Horstmeyer has been forecasting Cincinnati weather for 35 years. Horstmeyer will have a presence at Great American Ball Park throughout the 2014 regular season.
“I still remember listening to Reds games on my transistor radio as a kid,” said Horstmeyer. “The chance to work with the team I grew up listening to is a dream come true.”
