Word is that not one, but two General Managers are now out of a job in the LA market.

Steve Carlston joined KNBC back in September of 2011 is out.

Celia Chavez joined KVEA as GM in 2012 and now word is that she is out at the Telemundo station.

Both stations are owned by NBC and the word is that Valari Staab, president of the NBC Owned Television Stations wants to have one person run both stations.

When Carlston was named GM at KNBC, Staab said, “Between his 30 years of television industry experience, dynamic leadership skills and proven track record of making stations stronger, Steve Carlston is uniquely qualified to take NBC4 to the next level,” said Staab. “Steve is from Southern California and truly understands the importance of a television station serving the local community. I look forward to working with him and welcome him to the team.”

It appears he is no longer welcomed to the team.
