Paramount+ is making it a little cheaper for its subscribers of a certain age to watch its programming.
The streamer on Wednesday announced an “exclusive streaming benefit” for AARP members, offering a 10% discount on the premium streaming service to new and returning subscribers.
“Aligning with world-class brands has been a cornerstone of our market-leading growth strategy, and we are thrilled to introduce a new offer with AARP that enables us to engage with millions of their members,” said Jeff Shultz, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Business Development Officer of Paramount Streaming in a statement. “Our total household offering, which includes popular content from studios such as CBS, Paramount Pictures and Showtime, means Paramount+ is a natural fit for the AARP audience, and we are excited that this new deal allows us to better reach this vast and active community.”
Added Jason Mugg, AARP’s Senior Vice President of Lifestyle: “We’re thrilled to share that AARP members now can enjoy access to Paramount+ streaming services. This addition provides real value, catering to the diverse entertainment needs of our members and enhancing their everyday experiences.”
The promotion is available to subscribers in the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) and is applicable for both monthly and annual plans.

Aren’t there better deals out there than this?
Every month there is a new free month code. Newest code I’ve seen online is ‘COLIN’.
So instead of paying $9.99/mo you’ll pay $8.99/mo? Doesn’t seem like much of an offer. Kind of like their Black Friday deal of $1.99/mo for three months when other streamers were offering $0.99/mo for a full year, etc. Far be it for me to criticize saving money but seems to me Paramount isn’t trying very hard.
Paramount+ raised their price to $11.99 a month now.
That’s Paramount w/Showtime. Just Paramount w/no ads is just $9.99.
That’s no longer offered if you go to sign up now. Either Essential (with ads) or With Showtime (almost no adds and Showtime included). No ad-free options without Showtime.
Oh well that’s fine. I don’t mind and ad now and then.
Weak
For some reason I have been getting Paramount+ for free for over a year. Not sure why, but whatever. Lower Decks is great and have been watching Hot in Cleveland.
This happens a lot. When I first signed on I got the seven day free trial and canceled it but the feed continued to work for several months. I didn’t complain, lol.
Can I stream reruns of Donahue? If not, no deal
Given that HBO subscribers get Max for free, you’d think P+ would do likewise with Showtime subscribers. You would of course be wrong.
I fully expected it to be limited to the tier that includes ads. Nice.
I have been on the Paramount+ and AARP websites and can’t seem to figure out how to get the discount. I am an AARP member and also a Paramount+ customer.
You don’t have to pay a cent. I’ve been getting free for two years. Sign up with a promo code, cancel, sign up after the free month ends with a new promo code, rinse, repeat.
for the last 2 days I’ve had trouble signing up because it shows invalid mo/yr on credit card. I’m not the only one experiencing this issue according to their fb site.
Have not been able to talk with anyone on live chat or in person. Patience is wearing thin.
