When CBS This Morning was rebranded to CBS Mornings in 2021, the morning show also debuted a new lower-third graphics package that reflected the name change and paid homage to the CBS Sunday Morning brand.
On Monday, CBS News’ flagship morning show debuted a new lower-third graphics package at the start of the 7 a.m. hour that, according to its executive producer Shawna Thomas, is “more in line with the overall CBS look.”
She added that the new look “will hopefully help the audience understand, no matter where they are encountering our content, that this story or segment is distinctively CBS News.”
This new graphics package features color scheme switches to match the segment discussed. For example, the lower third’s color switched from the primarily white and yellow color scheme to white and green during the money segment. Additionally, during a segment about the Super Bowl, it switched to white and purple.
A sample of the new graphics package look can be seen below.

CBS Mornings has seen some positive momentum in recent weeks, notching a 62-week high in the Adults 25-54 demo. It beat GMA three times in the demo during the week of Jan. 22, which was the fifth time that has happened this season.
In a recent story in Broadcasting+Cable, Thomas attributed the show’s improved performance to the chemistry of the anchors, Gayle King, Tony Doukoupil and Nate Burleson, saying, “I think we’ve found a great trio.”
