Meteorologist Erin Thomas said goodbye to Memphis NBC affiliate WMC after two years.

She announced the news on social media, saying Sunday was her last day at the station.

After 7 years in local news, 2 of which here at @WMCActionNews5, I have made the very difficult decision to leave my role to pursue new opportunities outside of television,” Thomas tweeted.

Thomas has worked at WMC since April 2021. Her first chief meteorologist job was in Savannah, Ga. She’s also worked in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Last week, meteorologist Patrick Ellis announced he was joining the station from WLBT in Jackson, Miss.
