Former WPBF 25 senior producer returns to lead award-winning team

Stephanie Linton has been named News Director for WPBF 25, Hearst Television’s ABC affiliate in West Palm Beach. The announcement was made Tuesday by WPBF 25 President & General Manager, Caroline Taplett.“It’s wonderful after 13 years to welcome Stephanie back in the WPBF 25 newsroom where she got her start,” said Taplett. “Stephanie’s impressive credentials, passion for journalistic excellence, and large market experiences have prepared her well to lead our winning news team into the future.”Linton has strong ties to WPBF 25 and the Sunshine State. She started her career in Florida covering local news for more than a decade, beginning as a producer at WPBF 25 News. She left in 2006 to become Executive Producer at WFOR-TV in Miami. She spent four years there before joining WSOC-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina as Assistant News Director. In 2015, Linton then moved to KGO-TV, the ABC-owned station in San Francisco to become Assistant News Director, where she has spent the last four years. “The colleagues and community surrounding WPBF 25 News have always held a special place in my heart, so I am very excited about this homecoming,” said Linton. “The station has come such a long way and has tremendous momentum. I am thrilled to return to a newsroom full of such talented journalists and cannot wait to be a part of the station’s future successes.”Linton earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunication from the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications, where she graduated with high honors.
