“All American,” The CW‘s lone homegrown series originally set for the fall has been moved to midseason. The network confirmed the move on Wednesday after announcing premiere dates for the rest of its fall schedule. Also being pushed to midseason is “61st Street” and the “I am” documentary film franchise.
The drama was first renewed for Season 6 in January and was originally slated to air on Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT, leading into the acquired drama series “61st Street.” In May, the network revealed that “Walker,” which was previously renewed for an abbreviated fourth season, was also being held for midseason.
It’s safe to say the move was likely another casualty of the ongoing writers’ strike, which has pushed networks like ABC to delay all of its primetime scripted series. However, with the other unscripted and acquired programming, the network has managed to pad itself somewhat from the other effects of the strike.
There are several newcomers expected to arrive this coming fall with the addition of the recently saved “FBoy Island.” The CW picked up the unscripted dating competition following its cancellation at Max along with several other reality programs. Season 3 of “FBoy Island” will premiere in October. It joins the CW’s slate of unscripted shows including “Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” “Whose Line Is It Anyway?,” “Masters of Illusion,” and “World’s Funniest Animals.”

“The Swarm” is expected to make its series premiere in September after The CW acquired the European eco thriller in May. In October, the show will be joined by other foreign acquisitions “Sullivan’s Crossing,” which received an early Season 2 renewal last month, and “The Spencer Sisters,” and “Everyone Else Burns.”
