General Hospital: Kirsten Storms’ Maxie Temporarily Recast
General Hospital has tapped Nicole Paggi to temporarily step in for Kirsten Storms as Maxie Jones, Soap Opera Digest reports.
Paggi — who played Kelly Ripa’s niece/Faith Ford’s daughter Sydney in the ABC comedy Hope & Faith — made her debut on the ABC daytime soap on Wednesday, Dec. 27. TVLine has learned that Paggi will fill in for Storms for just a couple days.
Days of Our Lives vet Storms transitioned to General Hospital in 2005 after playing Isabella “Belle” Black on the aforementioned NBC sudser from 1999 to 2004. Her GH character Maxie was temporarily recast in 2011, with Jen Lilley taking over the part until Storms returned in 2012. Storm also took temporary leaves from the show in 2016, 2017 and 2018, ranging from a couple days to a several-months hiatus, with Molly Burnett frequently filling in as Maxie.
In addition to her General Hospital character, which she also portrayed on the offshoot General Hospital: Night Shift, Storms is known for her starring role in Disney Channel’s Zenon TV movies and her voice work on Kim Possible (as Bonnie Rockwaller).
Paggi’s recent TV credits include episodes of The Rookie: Feds and 9-1-1. She previously co-starred on the UPN sitcom One and One.
“It’s unclear for how long Paggi will fill in for Storms in the role of Maxie. TVLine has reached out to ABC for comment.”
Considering Kirsten is the the previews for tomorrow not long.

Why was Maxi recast temporarily ?
Finola Hughes takes a few months off each year. Anthony Geary used to take time months off as well. Their time off might’ve been scheduled, it it was certainly more time off than Kristen’s taken over the last 10 years.

She is such a mess. I can’t recall any daytime actor in the last 50 years who has missed this much work.
She has some pretty serious health issues and it’s amazing the show gives her grace to allow her to heal from those but let’s call her a mess you pig (see how uncalled for it is? Of course you don’t)

Wow Soozan. What a cruel thing to say. What do you know about her? Do you know she’s dealt with endometriosis? Is John J. York a mess because he’s missing work now dealing with cancer? What about Eden McCoy because she’s dealing with the death of her mother? I hope you have some more grace with the people who you actually know in your life…

I love Kirsten – always have! She’s always been great in the role of Maxie. But the wardrobe, hair & makeup people for her should be fired!! Come on, do better!!!!!!!

Nicole’s terrific! It would be nice if they could find a role for her on one of the remaining soaps. Really enjoyed her work yesterday. FAR better than the Eden recast. Ugh!
She looks like she might be able to pull off a Lulu Spencer recast. Assuming they can’t get Julie Berman to come back. It’s about time Lulu woke up from her coma, for any number of reasons. Not the least of which is a teenage daughter brainwashed by the Cassadines. And just the ever dwindling number of Spencers in Port Charles, now officially made worse with Bobbie’s death.
I really hope everything is good with her. Nobody can portray Maxie like her. Kirsten is the best!
Is Maxie coming back
I read somewhere that she had anorexia and clearly she’s been to rehab but now she’s over weight. She now has a different issue with food which isn’t any better for her than anorexia. I wish she could get back into shape.
