In the latest TV show ratings, the Season 25 premiere of NBC‘s Law & Order: SVU was Thursday’s most-watched program while also topping the night in the coveted 18-49 age demographic.
NBC | With their season premieres following an extended eight-month hiatus, Law & Order (with 5.2 million total viewers and a 0.5 rating, TVLine reader grade “B-“; read recap), SVU (5.6 mil/0.6, reader grade “B”; read recap) and Organized Crime (3.9 mil/0.4, reader grade “B+”; read recap) all returned up in audience vs. their previous averages, and steady in the demo.
ABC | Press Your Luck (3 mil/0.4) was steady.
FOX | Hell’s Kitchen (2.3 mil/0.4) and Gordon Ramsay’s Road Trip (1 mil/0.2) were both steady.
THE CW | Son of a Critch (358K) added viewers with its season finale. This week’s Conners repeats drew 274K and then 331K. Children Ruin Everything (249K) lost viewers week-to-week.

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in our ratings column do not reflect a show’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers (Nielsen fast nationals, unless denoted as finals) instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. This is only an exhibition, this is not a competition. Please, no wagering.
CW is laughable at this point.
I’m excited to see what 9-1-1 pulls in ratings wise when it returns on Thursdays on ABC
Love Critch. Such a sweet show.
With no new scripted shows on the other networks it would be a shock if ratings didn’t go up.
SVU hit the season 25 milestone! It seems like yesterday it broke Gunsmoke’s 20 seasons’ milestone!
LO SVU And OC great episodes
The CW’s unprecedented acquisition and airings of ABC’s ‘The Conners’ reruns in Prime Time seems to be paying off. The ratings are equal to if not better than ‘Son of a Critch’ and ‘Children Ruin Everything’ and light years ahead of ‘Run the Burbs’ and ‘Everyone Else Burns’. It’s also great marketing to make viewers aware that The CW is now the ‘home’ of The Conners, paving the way for when the show enters syndication next Fall, probably on Nexstar owned & operated stations outside of Prime Time. Clever, scrappy and smart.
Law and Order SVU….so excited to watch this. 25 years on the air is just fantastic! Congratulations to the entire cast/writers/everybody. What a remarkable moment in tv history. Mariska needs to be awarded somehow for this with a Lifetime Achievement Award or something bigger!! Congratulations to everybody who has been or is currently connected to the show. 25 years!!!
All of you did an excellent job. I was not disappointed. I’m a Law and Order fanatic. Love you all
I love M.H. but I am not happy (personally and strictly my opinion) on the 1st Episode of SVU. I do not expect Pollyanna behaviour but she’s soooo maudlin(?) and seriously…she should have known the girl was kidnapped? Really? When does the Captain do paperwork?
I don’t expect anything anymore, but the title should say “trio GROWS”, not “grow”.
A most understandable note, but in this case trio as a collective noun gets a plural verb, to put the stress on the individual performance of the three entities. (Example: “The pair of shoes is getting old” vs. “The pair were happy on their honeymoon.”)
Keep Law And Order Organized Crime
