Jackie Howard’s life with the Walter Boys will continue, now that Netflix has picked up My Life With the Walter Boys for Season 2.
The renewal news comes just 12 days after the release of Season 1. The teen drama is currently No. 1 on Netflix’s Global English Top 10 TV List, and has reached the Top 10 in 88 countries.
“I am beyond thrilled that My Life With the Walter Boys has been renewed for a second season,” series creator Melanie Halsall said in a statement to Tudum. “We have been overwhelmed by the love and support that the audience has given the show and can’t wait to dive back into the world of Silver Falls and the lives of these characters.”
Added fellow executive producer Ed Glauser: “The saying It takes a village couldn’t be more true as it pertains to the success of My Life With the Walter Boys. From Ali Novak’s original novel, brilliantly adapted by Melanie Halsall, to our wonderful cast who brought her characters to life, and Netflix’s steadfast commitment, we’re thrilled to continue Jackie’s journey with Season 2.”
Based on the WattPad novel of the same name, My Life With the Walter Boys is described as “a heartwarming coming of age story that follows 15-year-old Manhattanite Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez) after losing her family in a tragic accident,” according to the official logline. “Jackie leaves behind her privileged and proper life in New York and moves to rural Colorado to be with her guardian – her mother’s best friend, Katherine (Suits’ Sarah Rafferty), who is raising 10 kids with her husband, George (Marc Blucas).
“While settling into her new, chaotic countryside home, Jackie is determined to stay focused on her dream of getting into Princeton… all while wrapping her head around her feelings for two very different Walter brothers: the reliable and bookish Alex (Ashby Gentry), and the mysterious and troubled Cole (Noah LaLonde),” the synopsis continues. “As Jackie tries to navigate her new life, the feelings and tensions she tries to deny threaten to throw everything off course. Will she be able to stay true to herself and still find romance?” (Guess we’ll find out in Season 2!)

It’s a great show I’m so glad it’s a season 2 looking forward to seeing the 2nd series
Not surprised. It’s been a huge performer and other than the large cast doesn’t seem like it’s that expensive to make.
Nothing could be bad with Sarah Rafferty! Love the show!
I was not familiar with the book or story before I started it last week. I really enjoyed it. I am SO HAPPY to see Sarah Rafferty on screen again. She can do no wrong in my book! Also great to see Riley from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Marc Blucas) as her husband/the father.
Watched the entire series in one day!! I love it!!
The show has a solid cast and is shot well, but they need to work on pacing and character development a bit more. They always seem so eager to move on to the next thing that they miss obvious emotional beats. Nathan’s scare freaked Jackie out for obvious reasons, but the way it played out, it seemed like she just felt like a jog. And the emphasis on family/romantic drama cut the legs out from the trauma that sent her there in the first place. It feels like the show was twice as long, and then poorly edited down to what was released.
The passage of time also makes the arc pacing weird. In short, there is some solid material here, but the writers need to tighten things way up.
YES!!! I read this book when it was released almost a decade ago and when I reread it last week I realized how much better this show is!! I am so thrilled about this news!!
I will definitely be watching season 2. I just need to find out when it will be on Netflix. Can’t wait, anxious to see what happens with everyone.
I just finished watching it and was hoping we would hear good news soon and it’s already renewed, that’s amazing!
I started it randomly but found I really liked it, Netflix is doing really great with these small town, cozy, kinda cheesy shows! I can’t wait to find out what happens to everyone after that finale… hopefully we won’t have to wait too long!
Gosh, your website has really gone downhill with all the pop-up adds all over the screen when you visit even one page. I used to check this site more than 10 times a day, I think I’ll pass.
LOVE IT!! I’m a traveler, avid reader, former New Yorker AND only child! My most recent trip to see my family DENVER! So, Yeah!
Making new friends and moving to places un- known is a trial at best!
A Great Show! Now I must read the book! Congrats on Season 2!
