In the latest TV ratings, CBS’ NCIS: Sydney finale was Tuesday’s most-watched show, while ABC’s Celebrity Jeopardy! tied Fox’s The Floor for the night’s highest demo rating.
CBS | Whilst still awaiting a decision on possible Season 2 renewal, NCIS: Sydney — this TV season’s most-watched freshman series — wrapped its Stateside run with 4.6 million total viewers and a 0.3 demo rating, dipping week-to-week opposite New Hampshire primary coverage (which amassed nearly 11 million viewers on the Big 3 cabler newsers). TVLine readers gave the finale an average grade of “A,” while the season as a whole netted an “A-“; read our post mortem interview about that closing twist!
NBC | Night Court (2.9 mil/0.3) matched its demo low, Extended Family (2.1 mil/0.2) hit lows, and La Brea (2.1 mil/0.2; read Izzy post mortem) was steady.
FOX | Name That Tune (1.6 mil/0.3) was steady, while The Floor (2.5 mil/0.4) ticked down vs. last week’s highs.
ABC | Celeb Jeop! (4.2 mil/0.4) was steady, while the final two Only Murders in the Building Season 1 reruns averaged 2.3 mil and a 0.2.
THE CW | Inside the NFL (310K) was steady, while Whose Line Is It Anyway? (420) grew.

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in our ratings column do not reflect a show’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers (Nielsen fast nationals, unless denoted as finals) instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. This is only an exhibition, this is not a competition. Please, no wagering.
Won’t NCIS:Sydney’s fate be decided by its ratings in Oz? It was never intended for the US to be its primary market, and really only got US traction because the strikes meant there was nothing else to show.
A multitude of factors shall determine its fate.
Given it was the fall’s most-watched scripted show, plus its lower production costs (which will likely be covered by its AU/NZ run anyway) and wild cliff-hanger, I’d say a renewal is pretty close to a sure thing.
We shall see!
What about “Night Court” & “Quantum Leap?” What about their renewal chances?
I enjoyed it, especially the last episode. Renew please? So sick of all the game shows and “reality” shows.
I wouldn’t miss it if it didn’t come back. I’m watching because there’s nothing else to watch.
Extended Family getting low ratings is no surprise. That Night Court episode wasn’t good either.
That was some next level acting by Todd Lasance in that last episode…👍🥰
I wasn’t sure when I first started this if I would like it but was pleasantly surprised by how much I did. I not only enjoyed the cast but the locale was amazing. I certainly hope CBS brings it back. Excellent all the way around!
I want a season 2 of NCIS: Sydney. I think it got better with each episode and the finale had a great twist!
