The 2022 Television Critics Association Summer Tour has gone from in-person event in Los Angeles, to a virtual installment once again.

As TheWrap previously reported, the tour was set to commence next week, but on Thursday morning the TCA board sent a note to members confirming several networks had chosen to shift to virtual press days over growing concerns over surging COVID numbers in Los Angeles. By Thursday afternoon, the full in-person tour was canceled.

The TCA board announced that as it shifts to a virtual tour, the board is in contact with the various networks to plan a virtual schedule. The virtual days “may or may not be in the same timeframe as the current schedule,” the board wrote in a note to its members.

The last time a TCA tour was held in person was in Winter 2020. It went virtual starting that summer and has continued in that format since the start of the pandemic.
