CBS’ Tracker this week was Sunday’s most-watched TV program, while ABC’s AFV and American Idol tied for the nightly demo win.
CBS | Leading out of 60 Minutes (which drew 7.05 million viewers and a 0.4 demo rating), the yet-to-be-renewed The Equalizer returned from a multi-week break to 6 mil and a 0.4, hitting and matching at least season lows. Tracker (7.6 mil/0.4) was down from last week’s best-since-premiere outing, and the freshly cancelled CSI: Vegas (4.1 mil/0.3) dropped some eyeballs, matching a season low.
ABC | AFV (4.4 mil/0.5) dipped from its last outing, American Idol (5.1 mil/0.5) added eyeballs week-to-week, and What Would You Do? (2.3 mil/0.2) also was up in audience.
FOX | The Simpsons drew 974K/0.3, followed by Krapopolis‘ 663K/0.2, The Great North‘s 591K/0.2 and Grimsburg‘s 544K/0.2.

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in TVLine’s daily-ish ratings column do NOT reflect a television program’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers (Nielsen fast nationals, unless specifically denoted in bold as finals) instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. Steve Harvey is not a judge or lawyer and merely offers an alternative forum of dispute resolution.
CSI Vegas was so great last night. I remember on old episodes of original CSI. Is so bad the cancelation :(
I’m sure The Equalizer will be renewed but its never a good sign when both the shows before you and after you have higher numbers. I would imagine a different timeslot coming soon. Maybe just wrapped with Tracker, but I could also imagine a Monday or Thursday timeslot in its future.
IDK. Tracker seems to be becoming “destination” TV wherein people FIND it, one way or another. I myself record the hour AFTER the show to make sure I see it all thanks to overruns.
.
I think CBS might keep it at 9 so as to inflate the shows after it with over runs, as well as the show BEFORE it, again, with FB overruns this fall. They “adjust” but it is imperfect.
One also has to consider that Equalizer has been reruns/ replaced for a while. I had actually given up checking in to see if it was back. I live on the west coast. My sister on the East Coast sent me a text to say Equalizer was back Sunday night after she watched it. That’s when I’m made a point to tune in. I don’t watch a lot of CBS shows so if they had commercials advertising a new equalizer I never saw them. I’m sure there were others in my predicament
Prove that the tracker have over sixty millions than equalizer

When it comes to renewal decisions, CBS is down to The Equalizer and NCIS: Hawaii. I get the feeling that they’ve decided there’s only room for one, and the network’s decision-makers are waiting to see which one finishes higher in the ratings before they make the call.
So, now it will be interesting to see what Hawaii did last night.
And that’s all done just to make room for NCIS: Origins, which would have never gotten a full-season order without Mark Harmon being part of it.
But, either way, a female POC-led show is going to get canceled to make way for another white man-led show.
I don’t think The Equalizer was ever in danger. I think it’s more about how NCIS Hawaii can come back. Like how it can work financially and it’s episode count. When you get that level of detail for a show it’d take a lot to see it cancelled.
How much did adding LL Cool J cost NCIS: Hawaii this year? And was it worth it?
The show was doing just fine without him. The cast really gelled. And for season 3, we got a truncated year with the characters learning to blend with Sam Hanna while getting reduced interaction with other main characters.
I feel like CBS wants to be in the LL Cool J business, and this year was a placeholder while they workshop another project for him. I think he’ll be in much fewer eps next year, and transition to another (Non NCIS) project the year after.
Absolutely true!! There was no reason to add LL Cool J to the cast. His character has added nothing to the show; in fact it’s been a distraction. The show and its cast is very good.
Yeah, “The Equalizer” is still one of CBS’s top rated shows. Deadline says Queen & CBS are in negotiations on her new contract.
I don’t care at all about ncis origins or the paramount+ tony/ziva show. I just want more NCIS Hawaii.
Yeah because a cancelation has nothing to do with money and viewership. It all comes down to a black lead.
Take a business class and put down your race card.
I don’t know if that’s it exactly. I absolutely love Queen Latifah, and the supporting cast, but the show has changed dramatically from what it was in the beginning, where there was a case of the week and I am far less interested in the ongoing storyline which I find pretty boring. And FYI, NCIS Hawaii is a female POC lead show, even though I find her far less compelling an actress than Queen Latifah.
I do not watch any NCIS shows, but for those who do, are there any LGBTQ+ characters? Because there is representation on Equalizer and there is (was) on the recently cancelled So Help Me Todd. So not only losing women-led shows (CSI: Las Vegas, Todd (I look at Marcia Gay Harden as the lead) and Equalizer, but also losing LGBTQ+ representation leaving only FBI Most Wanted (the only show I watch of the 3) and Ghosts (the only two I watch and know of LGBTQ+ characters).
The main couple on NCIS: Hawaii is a lesbian couple, Kate and Lucy (#Kacy), but other than one episode, they haven’t been featured much this season. Some of that concerns Yasmine al-Bustami (Lucy) not being in all the episodes.
She must be off being with Jesus in The Chosen where she plays one of His followers.. She may have only signed up for half the season..
D
There are many shows with LGBTQ+ characters, but that part of their lives tend to not get many storylines. Kasie on NCIS, Ritter on Chicago Fire, Sgt Bell on L&O Organized Crime come to mind. Other shows have more prominent characters, Hen on 9-1-1, several characters on Station 19 and I think Grey’s Anatomy, Tracker has the lesbian couple that are Colton’s handlers, Fire Country has Eve.
Why do these shows need to have LGBQT+ characters? In real life only about 1 person in 20 is LGBQT+, yet this community is actually very overrepresented in current US TV shows. Representation should match real life, and we should not consider whether a show is good or bad based on LGBQT+ presence or absence, any more than we would decide if a person was good or bad based solely on their sexual orientation. If you’re choosing shows to cancel or keep – entertainment value, not cast diversity, should be the criterion used. Discrimination is still discrimination, even if the subject of the discrimination is white, straight and cis.
The target audience of 18 to 49 is actually higher then the general population. Many polls/studies have it as high at 2 out of 10. Its about numbers. “Gen Z is the most LGBTQ generation yet. About 21% of Gen Z adults (those ages 18-24) identify as LGBTQ, according to 2021 Gallup polling data. Among all Americans, 7.1% say they are LGBTQ, (up from 3.5% in 2012.) Among Millennials (born 1981-1996), 10.5% say they are LGBTQ, and the percentage gets smaller and smaller among older generations.”
The Equalizer is okay but in my view there is only one reason — well, maybe two since it take two people to make a couple — to watch this show. The brilliant work by Liza Lapira and Adam Goldberg. These two make the show watchable.
Love Tory Kittles too.
Between Basketball, etc, a few lower ratings are to be expected. Of course they will use this for a reason to cancel a show. The big 3 networks have become their own worse enemies as greed has taken over, if they can’t make a billion a week, they hit the cancel button. It won’t be much longer and the only things we will se from them are infomercials. See that way they can get paid without spending a dime but it will cause their disappearance. Then maybe some of the better networks can take over. They seem to have forgotten that we put the money in their pockets, if you don’t give the audience what they want it makes it worth the money to turn to Netflix and others, well maybe not Netflix as they have gone cancel crazy as of late, but you get my meaning.
The networks are their own worst enemy anymore. They already have shortened seasons because of the strike and they still can’t manage to schedule shows properly, resulting in them taking breaks. We know they are capable of doing it since their reality shows never seem to take a few weeks off but since they insist on using the old TV rules of the Mad Men days the scripted shows get shafted. And then they wonder why the ratings keep going down and interest in their shows are waning.
I liked the cast and the chemistry they have with each other the most but I’m not thrilled with the creative direction the show has taken. As the seasons have gone on, the writers seem to have lost interest in the show’s original remit of helping ordinary people out of jams and pivoted more and more to national security plot lines. I personally don’t think the CIA stuff is very good, in part because there is a big mismatch with the show’s relatively small budget. The latest pisode is a case in point – Robin works to save a man who has been poisoned by the Chinese intelligence service with a deadly toxin. Instead of seeking help from the CIA, FBI, NYPD hazmat, etc., she takes him to her ex-husband for treatment. There is a scene between the dying man and his wife that staged in Mel’s bar, with other patrons in the background, seemingly oblivious to the fact the sickly looking guy at the end of the bar has been infected with a deadly neurotoxin. If Equalizer is renewed, I hope they course correct and drop all the black ops stuff.
I agree, there’s a few issues IMO and although that sort of plot was part of the original helping those in need was the central premise.
.
Could do with less of Dee and Vi and their cause of the week stories, and also it seems that they’re pandering to the shippers quite a bit with McCall and Dante instead of actual plots.
Please get back to the original premise of the show. Robin and her team helping those in need. Enough of the family drama. First Dee “wants to learn” and perhaps someday help her mother, and now they’re adding the ex-husband to the team. Please lets get back on track and back to the basics.
I would love to see what the ratings would have been like if they would have run new episodes every week. Not just CBS, but all networks. Just cuz of the shortened season doesn’t mean they had to have breaks to stretch out the season. They could have left repeats til the end of the season instead. It’s hard to be invested in a show when you never know when it will be on.
Don’t get me started on CBS having sports run late & DVR not able to compensate.
Just sayin’! 🙄
Yes no one wants to watch reruns in the middle of the season.
Fox Cartoons were up in viewers
It should also be noted that the weather is a factor. We just had our first weekend with decent spring/early summer weather so a lot of people were having get-togethers and socializing. One of my neighbors had a barbecue. It will be interesting to see what the streaming/DVR numbers bring.
What do you expect when shows are forced to have multiple weeks of non airing. Ratings will suffer.
The industry is clueless.
I guess you were napping during the many months the actors and writers were on strike, resulting in shortened seasons.
I liked the show better when Robin was helping an average person. Now it’s CIA this and CIA that. That being said, I’d be worried. Since CBS seems to think they need more NCIS and FBI shows, this show will probably be cancelled too. They are cancelling everything I watch.
What channel can I get on and what time when you just have internet and roko
I really like The Equalizer. Would love to see another season. Great acting and stories. Please renew!
I am a disabled person and I have shows that I love. So many are leaving seems like a waste to try to like something new. You like it make part of your line up and BOOM it’s gone.
Equalizer is unfairly on the chopping block because they’re over promoting that trash “Tracker” show which basically is stealing the concept of Equalizer with a man as the lead, it seems like 60% of CBS budget is going towards promoting that show because they want to shove it down our throats, but I’m not watching but instead throwing it up 🤮 . I will watch reruns of CSI and any other show before I blind myself to watch Tracker.
Equalizer needs less family drama and more Equalizing.
Perhaps if CBS would stop messing around with scheduling; particularly on Sundays; they would get a more accurate rating for The Equalizer; Tracker and CSI…
Just sayin’!
Well one needs to promote the show especially when it is often delayed or not airing.
I don’t know how CBS can judge any shows that they put on Sunday nights. The show never stands a chance! First it’s football season, then march madness basketball season, then it’s golf. Especially the masters tournament. Just on Sunday April 14th alone the Billy Joel concert got bumped off! CBS should never schedule anything on Sunday evening except for 60 minutes, because that’s the only show that they seem to care about anyway.
I hope they renew Equalier I really enjoy the it would big mistake to cancel. It full action, family value and friends
Please bring back equalizer. It’s one of the best shows. I like. I’m sad that you got rid of CSI Vegas. I like that show. But if you can bring back equalizer, I would like that.
Of course ratings are low so many people do not know when a new show is on so they miss it. Networks are always changing the hours shown so even more are missed. One week it is 7:00 pm another week it is 8:00 pm…..
Sure The Equalizer got low rating people forgot to watch it again since they forced to watch something else
