In the latest TV ratings, the NBC TV-movie Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas dominated a quiet-ish Thursday in total viewers (with 6 million) and is currently tied for the nightly demo win (with a 0.5 rating).

Elsewhere, with CBS in rerun mode….

THE CW | The Freddie Mercury: The Final Act special drew 860K and a 0.1.
ABC | This year’s airing of Frozen II drew 2.2 mil and a 0.4.
CBS | A Young Sheldon rerun delivered the night’s second-largest audience, with 3.9 million viewers.

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in our ratings column do not reflect a show’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers (Nielsen fast nationals, unless denoted as finals) instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. It was entertaining and I enjoyed it but what was wrong with Miley’s voice, not the singing but the talking? I hope she’s ok.
She sounded like that for awhile. It’s probably from all the singing and smoking over the years
Smoking kills a voice. And then kills more than just that …
I love Dolly but that show was hard to watch! I finally gave up and shut it off after 30 minutes. Jimmy Fallon doing song and dance was awful! I talked to other people who felt the way I did about the show!
ITA The production was a mess. I gave up, watched a Christmas film and just switched to it during commercials and still found those snippets disappointing.
I totally agree. I was disappointed after 10 minutes. My wife lasted about 45 minutes then finally agreed it was awful. We kept hoping it would get better. It never did. A total waste of time. Sorry Dolly, we usually like your stuff. Not this time.
I thought the special was a little schmaltzy though very sweet
Anyone know why the wall isn’t on peacock?
I wasn’t planning on watching, but I enjoyed the Dolly Parton special last night
I thought Dollys performance was worst ever seen of her. She’s better than this and should have dressed properly for occasion. Show was stupid
I lasted 40 minutes. I love Dolly, but the storyline was all over the place.
I have to agree, it was bad. What is with Jimmy Fallon? Seriously man, you’re not a singer, stop singing. Has Dolly had too many facelifts? She can barely open her mouth anymore.
Having never seen any of Dolly’s previous Christmas shows, I found it to be preachy and way too church-y for my tastes.
The songs hit you over the head with their “message.”
I don’t really know what I expected from it but it was okay.
I liked her little nephew, once removed, or whatever he is.
I don’t know what I expected, it wasn’t this but I enjoyed it. I’m not religious but ’tis the Season. I respect she’s loud & proud about her Faith despite being surrounded with Hollywood types who are far from worthy of her.
We are from East Tennessee and have followed Dolly since she was a teenager singing on the radio in Knoxville. We were excited about this Christmas special. HOWEVER: We quite after 45 minutes. I can’t speak for the rest of the show, but the first 45 minutes was the worst thing we have ever seen on TV. The show was AWFUL.
I enjoyed it. It was a Christmas special they sang Christmas songs what did you think it was going to be? Yeah a lot of Christmas songs have a religious connotation get over it. It was fluffy fluff, have I seen better, yes we used to Watch Bing Crosby and Andy Williams as a family. Was it enjoyable, absolutely yes
Why is there no Latinos in the movie? Especially the fact that Dollywood hires a lot of Latinos to work there. I’m just disappointed that I love Dolly and she did nothing to put a little of representation of the Latino community in the movie. Sad!! That’s all I have to say.
I didn’t see any promotion on the Freddie Mercury special. I heard about it from a friend. It’s too bad. I thought it was worth seeing.
It was surreal but I couldn’t stop watching it!
Long time Dolly fan. We all know Dolly talks about her faith, family and friends. Why would this show be any different? Yes, a little preachy at times, but that’s Dolly. As far as Miley’s voice she could’ve strained it screaming from the roller-coaster she so loves ❤️. Dolly always dresses for herself, not us. I am sure she knows what’s appropriate for this occasion. We should stop criticizing this lovely lady and be glad she is still among us. All in all, I was entertained. Loved seeing her family. This is Classic Dolly. Such a wonderful gift she is to the world. Love you Dolly, a forever fan ❤️
