In the latest TV ratings, DC’s Stargirl opened Season 3 on Wednesday night with 515,000 total viewers and a 0.1 demo rating, down just a smidgen in audience from both its sophomore finale (574K/0.1) and its Season 2 averages (590K/0.1).
TVLine readers gave the return of Courtney & Co. an average grade of “A-“; read recap.
Continuing The CW‘s night, Wellington Paranormal‘s season-ending double pump (160K/0.0, 120K/0.0) marked successive lows.
Over on CBS, Big Brother (3.6 mil/0.7) slipped week-to-week but still led Wednesday in the demo; read recap. The Challenge: USA (1.9 mil/0.3) also was down.
NBC’s America’s Got Talent (5.2 mil/0.5) dipped week-to-week but still dominated the night in total viewers.
Fox’s MasterChef (averaging 2 mil/0.4) was down with its latest double helping.

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in our ratings column do not reflect a show’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers (Nielsen fast nationals, unless denoted as finals) instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. Big Brother is not associated or affiliated with the Estate of George Orwell and is not based on the novel “1984.”
It is on my DVR, I actually was surprised it was starting this week and not like a week or two from now. Even still prior to Sunday, I had every intention of watching Stargirl and then watching BB, but then what happened IRL on BB happened on Sunday, and that was much more appointment viewing. I actually had the thought that maybe this show would be my slow switch to next day streaming, but I am not sure its on HBO Max right away anymore.
So weird that 40k people leave after Wellington’s first episode.
You’d think it would be a lot more.
But it’s the end of the season. One would think by this point the viewers are all in on the show. Especially if you know the next episode is the finale. Why leave? Curious…
Considering they had only been showing one new ep a week for a while now, they might not have realized they were getting two new eps…
I think a combination of people not knowing it was back since it didn’t premiere with the rest of CW’s fall slate, normal attrition, and some people assuming it will get cancelled after this season anyway because of the new ownership so they aren’t in a rush to watch
It was late for its Summer premiere but a little too early for Fall
Maybe premiering during a slow TV week is not the best idea. Why release it the week before Labor Day weekend? If they waited a week or two it would probably have better numbers.
It feels like they are doing everything in their power to bury all DC shows, from moving the show from it’s usual mid-season slot to the lack of promotion ー not even Brec knew when the show was premiering ー and all the shuffling within Warner is making me nervous regarding Stargirl, which is imo one of the strongest of the DC shows.
Give us time to watch the show. Alot of people are still at work. Some of us are sleep cus we have to get up for work early. But I will be watching it. Stop tryna rate stuff after one day.

The much-awaited season of all time.
It’s a great show I think. We shouldn’t have see these shows on those t.v. apps they leave well enough alone keep everything on. Regular t.v.
