NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - WVUE FOX 8 in New Orleans and the New Orleans Pelicans jointly announced that they have reached an agreement with Allen Media Broadcasting to add KADN-TV in Lafayette to their Pelicans’ regional broadcast affiliate group.

On December 30, 2023, WVUE’s parent company, Gray Television, Inc., and the NBA team announced that they had reached an innovative new sports rights deal that will make ten of the Pelicans games during the 2023-24 NBA season available to fans on leading local television stations serving audiences throughout Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama in markets served by Gray’s local television stations.

The new agreement with Allen Media Broadcasting to add KADN-TV to the Pelicans’ regional broadcast affiliate group brings the games to the only Louisiana market omitted in the December 30th announcement. Consequently, viewers in every television market in the state of Louisiana will now have the opportunity to watch these games through local television stations via free, over-the-air broadcasts or through these stations’ carriage across all major cable and satellite providers in the state.

“AMG BROADCASTING is very pleased to partner with Gray Television and broadcast this suite of New Orleans Pelicans games,” said Byron Allen, Founder, Chairman & CEO Allen Media Group. “Local TV stations remain the connective platform for local sports fans. The Pelicans franchise has a strong fan base in the Lafayette, LA market. Our KADN-TV is proud to deliver these games to those fans and recruit new followers to the Pelicans franchise. Allen Media Group views our broadcast station partners as a vital part of the American fabric and this partnership with Gray television strengthens that bond with local viewers”
