ABC has made it official — Dancing With The Stars will return next fall for a 19th cycle, the first with Rob Wade at the helm as he is set to succeed departing Conrad Green who had been the showrunner since the launch. ABC also officially confirmed that The Middle has been renewed for a sixth season.

As is the case with most aging reality franchises, the ratings for Dancing have come down and, starting last fall, the show went from two to one episode a week. Dancing is skewing older but still draws sizable audiences. The show made several changes going into this season, including Erin Andrews replacing Brooke Burke-Charvet as co-host and bringing in a new orchestra. Dancing joins fellow reality veterans — CBS’ Survivor and The Amazing Race and Fox’s American Idol — which also have been renewed for next season.
