Valley television executive Bob Sullivan has been named president of The Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee and will oversee the daily operations and business management functions of the group.

"We are excited that our senior management team is now in place," said Host Committee Chief Executive Debbie Wardrop. "Bob's business expertise will serve our organization well as it accelerates into its operational phase. We now have less than 16 months until Super Bowl XLII, and there is a lot of work to be done."

Sullivan joins Wardrop, who has served the Host Committee for more than 18 months, and chairman Mike Kennedy of the law firm Gallagher & Kennedy.

Sullivan brings more than 26 years of senior management experience to the AZSBHC. His Valley-based company, Sullivan & Associates Consulting, provides strategic content development, branding and talent coaching for media outlets around the country.

The firm also provides media and presentational skills training for a variety of non-media organizations in the pharmaceutical, health care and life insurance industries.

Sullivan's executive management and consulting expertise has stretched across the country. He served as vice president of Gannett Television, president and general manager for W*USA TV in Washington, D.C., and as vice president and general manager for The Broadcast Image Group in San Antonio, Texas.

Sullivan's Arizona experience includes senior station and news management positions for two Phoenix television stations, Phoenix NBC affiliate KPNX-TV Channel 12 and most recently, KNXV-TV Channel 15, the ABC affiliate.

Sullivan earned a bachelor's degree in communications management at Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin in 1979. He, his wife, Meri, and his two children, Ryan and Delaney, reside in Paradise Valley.

The Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee is a private, not-for-profit Arizona corporation that serves as the liaison between the National Football League and local efforts.
