CBS‘ political satire “BrainDead” will relocate to Sundays at 10 p.m. to make room for the network’s coverage of the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, CBS announced Friday.
On Monday July 18 and 25, “Scorpion” will air at 9 p.m., leading into coverage of the conventions at 10 p.m., before shifting to occupy “BrainDead’s” 10 p.m. Monday timeslot from August 1, where it will serve as the lead-out for CBS’ two-hour comedy block.
“BrainDead” will air original episodes on Sundays beginning July 24, moving behind “Madam Secretary,” another political series. CBS also plans to promote “BrainDead” during the RNC and DNC telecasts. The move allows the Eye to prime Monday nights for fall, when “Scorpion” will air at 10 p.m. following two hours of comedy.
Created by “The Good Wife” executive producers Robert and Michelle King, “BrainDead” hasn’t made much of a ratings splash over the summer so far, with its most recent episode averaging a 0.4 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.2 million total viewers.
