The DVR playback numbers are in for Fall TV premiere week’s Monday and Tuesday offerings, and CBS’ The Big Bang Theory as usual got much bigger, while NBC’s This Is Us solidified its position as a breakout hit.

In the coveted 18-49 demo, Big Bang enjoyed the largest total gain of the first two days — 1.6 rating points — to wind up with a 5.4 for its Season 10 opener. The hitcom also netted the largest audience, swelling 28 percent to 20.3 million viewers.

Among Monday/Tuesday’s freshman launches, This Is Us grew a full 1.4 in the demo (or 50 percent) to register a 4.2 rating for its buzzy launch — maintaining its standing as the fall’s top-rated debut to date and marking the largest Live+3 gain for any series launch since Fox’s Empire circa January 2015. CBS’ Bull, meanwhile, delivered the largest total audience in Live+3 numbers, growing 25 percent to 19.4 million viewers. (That adjusted viewership pulls it ahead of lead-in NCIS, which wound up with 19.2 mil; both shows scored a 2.9 demo rating).

Lastly, of some note: ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. — now airing at the wee hour of 10 pm — enjoyed the largest percentage gains of any Monday/Tuesday program, up 82 percent in the demo (to a respectable 2.0) while growing 62 percent in audience (to 5.5 million viewers), with Live+3 DVR playback folded in.
