KOAT 7 today announced the addition of Greg Shepperd as news director at New Mexico’s top rated ABC affiliate.On Monday, October 19, Shepperd takes the reins at KOAT 7 News following a successful three-year run at Hearst Television sister-station KHBS/KHOG-TV in Fayetteville/Fort Smith, AR. Prior to KHBS/KHOG-TV, he was managing editor at one of the company’s largest stations, KCRA-TV in Sacramento, CA. At Hearst’s New Orleans station WDSU-TV, Shepperd was promoted from producer to executive producer to assistant news director for his leadership role in that station’s coverage of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath in 2005.“From the assignment desk to news director and many management positions in between, Greg has a strong newsroom leadership background.
