Jessica Williams is moving on. The four-year veteran of The Daily Show, under both the Jon Stewart and Trevor Noah eras, is exiting her correspondent gig for other opportunities at Comedy Central.
The news, which the network announced with a highlight reel of her Daily Show work on Twitter, comes at a busy time for Williams. Inking a development deal with Comedy Central earlier in 2016, she currently has a scripted pilot in the works — written and execute produced by Williams and Naomi Ekperigin.
Williams, alongside Phoebe Robinson, is also behind the recently launched WNYC podcast 2 Dope Queens. In the time since her Daily Show arrival, she’s also had a recurring role on Girls and appeared in Hot Tub Time Machine 2.
It’s been a little more than a year since the news of Stewart’s impending departure — the longtime host officially left the show in August 2015 — prompted a significant shake-up among longtime correspondents. Samantha Bee and Jason Jones both preceded their old boss out the door before Noah joined the show.
