Breaking Bad is heading to Sundance Channel.
AMC’s sibling network has acquired syndication rights to seasons one through four of the Bryan Cranston starrer. Sundance will kick off a marathon of the series, starting with the pilot, on Monday, March 4, at 11 p.m.

“Breaking Bad has become a benchmark for storytelling at its finest, and we are proud to air this series as we embark on our own scripted programming with the upcoming debut of Rectify, which is produced by the same incredible team behind Breaking Bad,” Sundance Channel GM and exec vp Sarah Barnett said Monday. “We are looking forward to giving viewers another opportunity to catch up with what has been called TV’s best drama.”
Two hours of Breaking Bad will follow premiere episodes of Sundance’s original scripted dramas The Staircase: Last Chance on March 4 and 11, Top of the Lake from March 18 to April 15 and Rectify — which hails from Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein, producers behind the Emmy-winning drama — from April 22 to May 27.
The Breaking Bad pickup for Sundance comes as a bit of a surprise considering that Netflix has become the go-to market for heavily serialized dark dramas, which don’t typically repeat well.
