Post-production editors on “Survivor” have reached a tentative deal with Mark Burnett‘s Island Post Prods. Inc., a week after ending a one-day strike.
Negotiators for about 30 editors reached the deal Wednesday. The pact, which must be ratified by the members, provides full health and pension benefits, an eight-hour day, a 40-hour work week with time and half after eight hours and double time after 12 hours.
The deal will be retroactive to the start of work on the 29th season of “Survivor,” which begins airing Sept. 24 on CBS.
The editors are repped by Local 700 of the Intl. Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. National Executive Director Ron Kutak led the negotiations for IATSE and attorney Adam Levin of Mitchell Silberberg and Knupp represented Island Post.
The crew struck on Aug. 14 and noted that for each episode in the series, it edits approximately 250 hours of raw footage down to one hour for broadcast.
