After seeing success from its coverage of sports figures like Lamar Odom and Donald Sterling, TMZ will expand its sports coverage next month with the launch of “TMZ Sports” on FS1.

Airing weekdays, “TMZ Sports” looks to give viewers sports news with a Hollywood twist. The half-hour program will feature exclusive off-field stories and updates on sports personalities.

“We’re incredibly excited to be on FS1,” TMZ exec president Harvey Levin said. “We’re hoping our show adds a new dimension to sports coverage, and this network feels like the perfect place to park our humor, irreverence and news gathering.”

The show’s premiere coincides with the launch of a new era of opinion-oriented programming at FOX Sports, including the video simulcast of Colin Cowherd’s radio program, “The Herd with Colin Cowherd.”

“‘TMZ Sports’ offers a window into the world where sport and celebrity cultures intersect — whether at a party, movie premiere or an ordinary day,” Jamie Horowitz, president of FOX Sports National Networks, said. “To both avid and casual sports fans, these stories are captivating.”
