Willie Geist, Steve Kornacki Will Join NBC’s Paris Olympics Coverage

Kornacki, who is known for his deft on-the-fly analysis of political campaigns and races, will turn his focus for a short period of time to athletic competition in Paris as part of a cadre of NBC News journalists who will present some coverage of the extravaganza, Willie Geist, Sam Brock, Gadi Schwartz and Anne Thompson will also participate, with Kornacki offering analysis from the U.S., and his colleagues on the ground in France.

NBCUniversal Is Going For Gold With $1.2 Billion In Olympics Ad Sales

NBCUniversal said it has sold $1.2 billion worth of advertising in the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, putting it on track to be the gold medal winner for most ad revenue ever generated by an Olympics Games. The revenue total includes about $350 million from new advertisers. Digital ad revenue has already set a record, the company said.

NBCU Expands VideoAmp And EDO Deals, Offers Programmatic Access To Olympics

Focusing its measurement efforts on the upcoming TV and video upfront market, NBCUniversal will be integrating its first-party identity data with that of VideoAmp for NBCU’s One Platform Total Audience. The expanded deal with VideoAmp for One Platform will offer audience-based cross-platform planning and measurement — looking for the overlap of viewing usage of linear and streaming audiences.

Peacock Reveals New Features For Summer Olympics Streaming

At the company’s One24 tech showcase Wednesday, execs touted the new aspects of the streaming experience for both consumers and advertisers. Peacock will carry more than 5,000 hours of live coverage, including all 329 medal events, in Paris from July 26 to Aug. 11. Two new features of note are Live Actions and Discovery Multiview, which are aimed at helping viewers find and engage more deeply with Olympic programming.

Kelly Clarkson And Peyton Manning Join NBC’s Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony Coverage As Hosts

Clarkson and Manning are expected to join Mike Tirico to host the opening ceremony, the network announced Tuesday night. The ceremony’s live coverage will air July 26 on NBC and Peacock at noon ET.
