Red River Broadcast Co., the owner of Fox affiliates KVRR Fargo, N.D., and KQDS Duluth, Minn., is selling the stations to Coastal Television. Coastal operates 10 TV stations in Alaska, Wyoming, New York, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas and Indiana.
The Coastal Television ABC affiliate will begin carrying the Fox schedule on a subchannel beginning this Saturday.
Fresco, an upstart platform that connects news organizations with “citizen journalists” for video content, is taking over the bulk of video production for Anchorage, Alaska’s KTBY. The station’s COO projects up to 40% cost savings — including from layoffs — in making the move.
