Time Warner chief Jeff Bewkes says he’s hoping to see the Internet boost domestic sales with the rollout of TV Everywhere. And he says that in four years he expects to see a doubling of his overseas business that now generates about $2.5 billion a year in revenue and $500 million in operating profit.
WPP: Advertisers Cautious, Stick To Budgets
While advertisers are sticking to their 2011 budgets, for now, WPP CEO Sir Martin Sorrell told a crowd of investors and analysts in New York Wednesday afternoon that “the watchword is caution.” The general mood among consumers and business leaders, he said, is “uniformly gloomy.” In part, he said, the gloom is a reaction to all the press accounts and analyst reports about how shaky the economy is.
TiVo Focuses On TV Software Packages
For TiVo, the future will be less about DVRs and more about creating advanced TV software packages for cable systems and other pay TV operators that integrate all forms of on-demand content.
