Tara Sorensen, the head of Amazon kids programming, will take on a similar role at Apple as the company pushes more into developing original content. Along with Sorensen, international development executive Carina Walker and business affairs chief Tara Pietri will also depart Amazon for Apple, with Pietri leading Apple’s legal affairs division. Walker will again be an international creative executive, reporting to fellow Amazon alum Morgan Wandell.
The 2017-18 TV season is nearing the midway point, so here’s Deadline Hollywood’s annual list of midseason premiere dates for new series and new seasons of returning shows. The list covers hundreds of broadcast, cable and streaming programs bowing from Jan. 1 through April 30 and includes shows that were on hiatus.

‘Voice’ Season 13 Finale Rises From Spring
Airing at 9 p.m. on NBC, The Voice averaged a 2.1 rating in adults 18-49 and 10.8 million viewers. That is an improvement of 5% in the demo and 16% in total viewers compared to the Season 12 finale (1.9, 9.3 million), which aired in May. However, this season’s finale was down in both measures compared to last fall’s finale.
Fox’s ‘Christmas Story’ Fails To Excite Viewers
Fox’s telecast was seen by 4.52 million viewers on Sunday night. That’s lower than any of the live plays that have been shown on broadcast television since NBC kicked off the trend in 2013 with The Sound of Music. CBS won the week in primetime, averaging 7.9 million viewers. NBC had 7.8 million, ABC had 3.5 million, Fox had 3.3 million, Univision had 1.4 million, Ion Television had 1.3 million, while Telemundo and the CW were tied with 1.1 million.
