‘Face The Truth’ Makes Syndie Debut In Fall

CBS O&Os in major markets will anchor the launch of the conflict talk show from Jay McGraw’s Stage 29 Productions. Also on board are stations owned by Cox, Meredith, Graham, Hearst and Weigel.

CBS Television Distribution (CTD) has sold Face the Truth, a new talk show from Jay McGraw’s Stage 29 Productions, into syndication for a fall 2018 launch, it was announced today by Paul Franklin, president of CTD.

Anchored by the CBS Television Stations group in 10 major markets, including CBS’s duopoly stations in New York and Los Angeles, the hour-long strip will also air on stations owned by Cox Television, Meredith Corp., Graham Media Group, Hearst Television and Weigel Broadcasting. Weigel’s independent WCIU will be the outlet in Chicago.

At NATPE, the speculation was that CTD would have to drop another of its shows, The Doctors, to make room for Face the Truth on the CBS stations. But a CTD spokeswoman said that is not the case. Both shows will co-exist, she said.

Face the Truth is a fresh addition to the television landscape,” said Jay McGraw, executive producer and president-CEO of Stage 29 Productions. “We have an incredibly talented cast with strong opinions who deliver a show that is entertaining, informative and highly watchable.”

CTD says “Face the Truth offers a unique take on talk by providing meaningful conflict with constructive resolution.  Each episode features real people presenting their problems big and small to a diverse panel of hosts, in search of solutions.”

Led by actress-producer Vivica A. Fox (Kill Bill, Empire Curb Your Enthusiasm), the panel includes Bar Rescue host Jon Taffer, attorney and advocate Areva Martin, psychologist Dr. Judy Ho and actress, life coach and mom Rosie Mercado.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

The panel offers their take on issues ranging from dating and relationships to bad habits to parenting, “sometimes with humor and other times with gravitas and raw emotion,” says CTD, all the while giving the studio audience a chance to participate in the conversation and vote on who is right and who is wrong.

Face the Truth is produced by Jay McGraw’s Stage 29 Productions and distributed by CBS Television Distribution. Jay McGraw, Carla Pennington, Patricia Ciano and Dr. Phil McGraw are executive producers.
