CBS Local Digital’s Adam Wiener Departing

Adam Wiener, EVP and GM of CBS Local Digital is leaving the company on Nov. 12 after 12 years with the group.

Adam Wiener, EVP and GM of CBS Local Digital, is leaving the position as of Nov. 12. Wiener’s is the second high-profile departure among CBS streaming executives in recent months: It follows that of Christy Tanner, the former GM of CBS News Digital, who left in June.

Wiener has been with the group for 12 years in a series of digital roles. Most recently, he was responsible for overseeing the digital operations of CBS’s 29 television stations.

Wiener was the architect of CBS Local’s streaming product and was honored with the NAB’s Digital Leadership Award in 2021.

He previously was SVP, content, community and operations for CBS Local Digital Media since 2010. In that position, he helped set and execute the company’s local online media strategy utilizing the combined assets and digital operations of CBS’s television stations and CBS RADIO’s stations.

He began his career in television and radio production within CBS News, eventually becoming senior producer of a network news broadcast and executive producer of CBSNews.com. In 2000, Wiener was named VP of content of CBS investment property Office.com.

“As news and stations combine and the transformative work follows, this is an excellent point for me to transition out of the company,” Wiener told TVNewsCheck.
