‘Jeopardy’ Leads Syndies Once Again

It squeaks past Family Feud by a tenth of a rating point in the session ending June 19. Dr. Phil and Live with Kelly and Ryan continue to tie at the top of the talk shows.

Jeopardy slipped 4% to a 5.0 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating, but held on to a narrow lead among the game shows and all of syndication in the session ending June 19. Family Feud also fell 4% to a second-place 4.9.

Court show champ Judge Judy was the third-highest rated show on the entire chart, hitting a 4.4 despite heavy daytime preemptions, followed by Wheel of Fortune, which faded 4% to a new season low 4.3.

Dr. Phil and Live with Kelly and Ryan continued to tie at the top of the talk shows, with both strips scoring a steady 1.5.

Wendy Williams ended its original run after 13 seasons with a stable 0.6 to tie both Tamron Hall and Steve Wilkos for seventh place among the yak pack. Sherri Shepherd, who will start her own show in September, was the Wendy guest host all week.

Meanwhile, Hall was hailed as the Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host at the 49th annual Daytime Emmys last Friday night.

On the magazine rack, Inside Edition edged Entertainment Tonight, which was preempted in top market New York for a June 13 mayoral debate. However, compared to last year at this time, ET, which won the Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Series News, was the only one of the seven magazines in the plus column, improving 6%.
