KWQC Names John Mann Gen. Sales Manager

Young Broadcasting’s NBC affiliate KWQC Davenport, Iowa/Quad Cities (DMA 99), today announced television management and sales veteran John Mann has been named general sales manager and will join the station on Monday, Sept. 24.

Mann joins KWQC from KPTM-KXVO, the Fox-CW duopoly in Omaha, Neb. He has held a number of senior-level station positions throughout his career, including local and national sales manager posts with WSVN Miami, WJKS Jacksonville, Fla., and WHTM Harrisburg, Pa.

He also was general sales manager of WVTM Columbus, Ga., and president-GM of Schurz Communications-owned WAGT Augusta, Ga. At Schurz, Mann was later promoted to president-GM of the group’s flagship station, WSBT South Bend, Ind., when he also was named to the company’s board of directors as an adviser.

Mann is a graduate of Bowling Green University.
