WDSU Named Louisiana ‘Station of the Year’

Hearst-owned NBC affiliate WDSU New Orleans (DMA 51) has been presented with the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters “Station of the Year” award for large market television at the association’s 2015 Prestige Awards Luncheon in Baton Rouge.

The annual competition recognizes excellence in broadcasting and outstanding achievements by Louisiana radio and television broadcasters.

The “Station of the Year” award is presented annually to a television station which, as a member of the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters, best exemplifies the very highest standards and practices of the LAB and of the broadcast industry.

“To have your complete body of work recognized by your peers and the LAB means a lot to us,” said WDSU President-GM Joel Vilmenay. “This award is a testament to the commitment our team makes every day to serve our viewers at the highest level.”

WDSU was also recognized for “Best Digital Application — Television” for excellence in Web and mobile platforms, including the WDSU News app, the WDSU Parade Tracker app and the recently launched WDSU Transit Tracker app.
