Nexstar Hosting La. Gubernatorial Debate

Nexstar Broadcasting will host a Louisiana gubernatorial debate in October, which will air on both Nexstar and non-Nexstar stations throughout the state.

The one-hour debate will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Dunham School in Baton Rouge.

Participants will include Democratic candidate State Rep. John Bel Edwards, the state house minority leader and GOP candidates Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne and Public Service Commissioner Scott Angelle.

They are vying for the seat currently held by Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal, who is vacating the job due to term limits.

Journalists from White Knight-owned WVLA Baton Rouge, which Nexstar operates, and KTAL Nexstar’s NBC affiliate in Shreveport will moderate the debate. It will air in all seven of Louisiana’s television markets.
