CTIA Taps Cole To Lead Government Affairs

Former NAB executive Kelly Cole will lead the wireless trade groups lobbying effort in Washiington.

 

CTIA today named Kelly Cole as its SVP of government affairs, effective Aug. 1. Her responsibilities will include overseeing the CTIA Hill team and advancing the wireless industry’s priorities before Congress.

Her unparalleled track record of success in crafting bipartisan consensus-based solutions will help deliver strong results for mobile consumers,” said CTIA President and CEO Meredith Attwell Baker. “Kelly’s expertise, judgment and collaborative approach will greatly benefit CTIA and our members.” ‎
Most recently, Cole ran her own consulting firm, Kelly Cole Strategies in Washington, and was a consulting counsel for Wiley Rein.

She served as the EVP of government relations for the National Association of Broadcasters where she led the association’s lobbying efforts. Cole also was majority counsel for the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee managing communications and Internet issues.  

She has a Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law, a bachelor of arts in political, legal and economic analysis from Mills College and spent a year studying law at the London School of Economics. Cole is a member of the bar in the District of Columbia, Washington state and Oregon.
